Dear Mark H, David M, Platt, Wim, everyone,

David M: Values: Well I think we need to place all our
    patterns/organisations/activity in the context
of evolution and freedom, and then ask
what is good SQ patterns on each of the levels with the
aim of supporting the higher levels. EG I would
suggest that our current social org for education gives
very poor support to genuine intellectual values.

Mark 30-5-04: Exactly. Education is one of the pillars. And i feel education
should be of values. It can be demonstrated that values are central to all
experience, so why are they not being taught?
This is only going to happen when educators are free to dislocate themselves
from the increasingly static patterns of 21st century socio-economic
servitude? Teachers don't teach anymore, they condition economic facilitators.

Economic structures are a problem. In fact, structure is the problem. There
is little point in changing structure if the nature of structure is not itself
modified. Anything less is just so much pissing in the wind.
Celebrity status is tied into socio-economic structuring, so both these
issues must be addressed simultaneously. I think values can find a point of entry
here, because it is clear there is a severe discrepancy between the value of a
leader as reflected in economic reward, and the value of those who actually
produce art. (I am referring to all manufacture as art.)

Society is an art also, if viewed from an expanded and appropriate
understanding of what art is in MOQ terms. Therefore, if manufacture of art, and society
as art can be harmonised as a value centred unitary activity, people may
begin to see the Quality of such a shift in value emphasis in the particular lives
    they lead?
If not, greed will continue to prevail.

    All the best,
    Mark M
