I'm not sure as to your meaning here, msh. Does this mean you're
pro-oil or pro-alternate energy? Just curious so I can gauge the
    meaning of your reply.

Hi. I'm happy to talk to the Cafeteria Philosopher!

What I was commenting on was my perhaps mistaken perception of the
underlying idea that we gotta get free of our dependence on foreign
oil by developing alternate energy sources, in order to continue on
with our wasteful consumerist life-styles. I think there needs to be
some recognition on the part of all so-called free-market societies
(not just America) that THEY are the ones who rounded us all up and
sunk us into this mess in the first place. That, maybe, when they've
developed their alternate energy technology, they'll give it away
rather than sell it for profit. IMO, this is worth thinking about,
even if my perception of Mr. Freeman's idea is mistaken.

As for pro-oil/pro-alt, definitely pro-alt, as I have been for 30
    years.

    Thanks,
    msh
