    I guess your question comes down to, "If society spread wealth around
    wouldn't more people be able to respond to beauty and DQ?" It's a
    wonderful question which can be rationalized either way, pro or con. It's
    no surprise that I lean toward laissez faire. When you compare Pirsig's
    description of NYC to "dull" socialist cities, it seems he leans that way,
    too.

    Outside of Dusenberry's love for his Indians, there's not much talk about
    "love" in Lila. It's a tough term to deal with because there it has so
    many meanings and carries so much baggage. I do love the MOQ :-)

    Ideally, both social and intellectual values should thrive. For maximum
    "thriving" of both, freedom is the catalyst.
