    I still think that we need to link the two.
    The intellectual is possible only through
    that uniquely self-conscious agent we call
    an individual. Without the intellectual the individual
    cannot reach even the low lands of self-consciousness.
    The two are inseparable, are they not?
    Only via a society and culture can the individual emerge,
    before the third level no such thing as the individual,
    just the single biological example of the type of species.
