The reason we don't hear may be that they don't enjoy the wide media coverage
we in the West enjoy. But your comment got me thinking of a related topic,
that of prominent leaders and/or proponents of certain ideologies/religions
that are not popular in the culture in which they live. The one that comes to
mind is Malcolm X, who energetically espoused his faith in Islam and
denounced (at first) America. Certainly, over the years, he's had various
counter parts in other parts of the world, who espoused opposite beliefs
(championing Christianity and the greatness of America, etc)? Every culture
has people who speak out against it.
