MD MOQ and Newsweek

Since we have a thread about MOQ I wanted to add something about in this weeks
Newsweek that I thought was funny. Pg 8 --

"VALUES TRUMPS DATA"

There was a small article about George W. Bush being asked about his
contradictory behavior in that in his education bill he made it clear that
only "scientifically proven" methods get federal funding (such as phonics
method research preferred by conservatives) but for sex education he boosted
funding for abstinence only progarms even though the only scientifically
proven programs included info about abstinence and contraception.
GWB's answer to this seeming contradiction " Values trumps data.
Conservatives will be ferocious about this."

I love when GWB uses scientific data when it supports his conservative values
but dismisses data when it doesn't.
