Hi Platt

Of course you are right, but and it's a big but... the search for truth is
as important as it has ever been, it fulfills something in us, that need to
explore the mind and the universe, it's not a case of best guess, so much as
finding solutions which best fit the evidence of what we can directly
observe.

I would also say that a certain amount of common sense applies, our instinct
for the truth will far often surpass the facts available at the time, this
is why we strive forward, not resting on our laurels so to speak.

The one thing I have faith in is that we are all insignificant in the grand
scheme of things
