Hi Rick and All
First off, let's get one thing straight. This list does NOT belong to those who subscribe to
it merely because they are subscribed and post. It is one part of MOQ.ORG It has to be
paid for along with the rest of the site and the domain name and administered.
Additionally, there is the little matter of the time I and others put in in order to ensure
that the list is not swamped with spam, virii and various other shite and that the content
of the site is of a high Quality.
You may have noticed that, unlike the majority of mailing lists on the Internet, there are
no adverts attached to posts (unless they come from members ISP's) and your
addresses are not sold on to provide additional revenue. This is because it is a privately
owned and administered list and I believe that the cost of providing this is worthwhile.
So please don't give me that 'we own it cos we're here' crap. In the past the committee
has asked for additional help and got a whole load of silence. Oh but now it's a peoples
list because that happens to be the convenient position to take.
Forget it.
Next there's the matter of Struan.
I will re-iterarate that I did send him a email informing him that he was permanently
removed from the list. I can publish the text (and the header) but that doesn't prove
anything as I could forge it in 2 seconds flat anyway and quite frankly I don't give a toss
if it's believed or not. I sent it and have no knowledge and no interest as to whether he
received it or not.
Personally I couldn't care less if he contributes to the MD forum or not, but I'm not going
to be abused by him or anyone else, especially in light of the above. I'm also not going
to give Struan free rein to continue to be abusive to others.
It would be simplicity itself to ensure that neither Struan nor anyone else who held an
opinion contrary to my own ever posted to the list again, but this is not what I want.
There are a few members who wish that Struan continues to post so I'm going to hand
over the responsibility of keeping him in line to those members.
Struan can post through those members that wish to see him continue to contribute.
Any posts that Struan wants to contribute can be piggy-backed onto another members
post (Guerilla warfare?... I love it too Rick but counter-insurgency is so much more fun
don't you think? :^) ). But only if that member agrees - I'm not having a repeat of the
Killerblade debacle.
Any post which contains a Struan post will be marked as such in the Subject line.
The member that forwards Struans post takes FULL responsibility for the contents of
what they/Struan posts. They will ensure with every post that Struan adhere's rigidly to
the Charter and Rules of the forum. If Struan breaks any of the rules then the member
who posts the content will be removed from the list.
(For the above I would make it permanent removal but both Marco and Magnus are
much nicer people than me and they think removal for 3 months is OK so I'll go along
with them).
There will be no abusive content whatsover or in any form - I don't give a damn what
provocation has been received. Rick you wrote:

Abuse can be a bitter pill to swallow. But why not be the bigger man here Horse?
so now apply this to Struan and see how he feels. Will he agree to this? Is his wish to
destroy the MoQ sufficiently powerful that he will accept these conditions? I doubt it very
much. And even if he does will he keep his word? Well let me provide you with this little
snippet from a while back:

Ian is correct. I contacted the publisher and they got back to me today. 'Lila' is out of
print here in England with no plans to re-publish.
Two years ago I promised that when this happened I would quit the forum considering
my work completed. Although I can't claim any of the credit, I must confess that it gives
me great pleasure to find, in my home country and for all intents and purposes, that the
MoQ is dead. Others will place their own spin on that, but I am satisfied and will keep
that promise.
For contrasting reasons therefore, it seems like happy days all round.
Farewell to all,
Struan

The above post is available in the archive.
So how much do you all want to see Struan continue and how much does Struan also
wish this. Are those that wish this prepared to actually do some work to ensure his
continued presence or is this just more hot air and cost-free moralising.
I'll leave the arrangements to whoever wishes to organise them but remember that from
this point on if any member piggybacks Struan onto the list and there is ANY ABUSE
WHATSOEVER I'll remove that member.
Take it or leave it - I don't care one way or the other.
