Some years ago i took what is often referred to as a " Personal Growth Seminar " ( i've taken several ) The one i'm thinking about in the moment taught a simple practical method of "living in integrity". It's a baby step,it is the practice of what JK means when he says: "But when you start very near, with the nearest, which is you, then the whole world is open, for you are the world, and the world beyond you is only nature. " This is just one example; there are many. "Put everything back where it belongs" If you take milk from the refrig. Put it back when you are done. If you put something in your cart at the grocery and you find something you want in it's stead then bring the first item back where you got it. Maybe this sounds too simple or maybe some thinks "how stupid". But i suggest that you do this for a while. Let it seep into, become a part of who you are. And in a very real way the integrity of that will lend itself to looking at more things through the integrity filter. i found that not only did it not compromise my time like i might have claimed it would ( rote defense ) ( i don't have the time for something that someone else is paid to do) but it actually seemed that i was less hurried. It didn't matter that anyone knew what i was doing because i knew what i was doing,it became it's own reward. That is in my way of seeing it a MoQ act. If i am a good parent, a good teacher, a good friend, then i would want to share this MoQ method of doing life with others. If they align themself with the belief that a quality of life act (baby step) adds to the collective consciousness in a positive way, then that act is ALL they can do in any given moment. They can rest assured that they did their part. The next step is share the info....stop trying, start doing.
joe says:in both posts I sense encouraging us to empty our attention-grabbers so that we can be at rest for something else. MoQ culture? Perhaps!
This Christmas my grandson received a "Children's Illustrated Dictionary." I opened it at random. I saw the word 'abstract' defined: "abstract noun a noun that is concerned with qualities and ideas. Love and courage are abstract nouns. The opposite of abstract is concrete."
I looked further to a definition of 'concrete' and found: "concrete adjective definite, real. Can you give me a concreted example?"
SOM culture is really in education from childhood on. It is really in all explanations of what is real. MoQ culture is an infant learning to walk. I am not sure what it is? I am one who is attracted to it.
