At 06:09 PM 1/14/2005 -0500, you wrote:
Chin)If the Christian view is what you were
looking for, I imagine this
would hold true, as the Christian would deny the Allah or Atman, or
whatever
God from any other religion, as the Christian view is exclusive to
Christian
beliefs and Christian interpretations of the Bible.
Marsha) I bet if you asked 100 Christians to describe God and how it
impacts on their individual life, you get 100 different answers.
How many different interpretations should we include with MOQ? How should
choice be made? Should the included God be one that answers
prayers? Should it be a God that passes judgements on the goodness
and badness of your life? If we include God, do we also include
heaven and hell?
If it were the definition of a religious God
you were looking for, I imagine
that you would need to change the word 'Christian' to 'Deitist', and
that
should pretty much cover it.
Marsha) God - smod, who cares, it's all the same outdated static
quality. Do we make room today for people who want to believe the
world is flat?
If it were the street version you were looking
for, it would be me, "A very
handsome man." :o)
Marsha) Now here we can agree. If there exist divinity, it would be
in you.
Actually, I feel I may not be representing
well what I am trying to say. It
is not a question of who is right. It is not a question of "God
is." It is a
question of how to spread the findings of the MOQ.
Marsha) Write to Brian Lamb at C-SPAN. Ask him to do an interview
with Mr. Pirsig. Here's C-SPANS email address:
viewer@c-span.org.
Write to everyone?
Do we exclude ourselves from those we would
like to join us?
Marsha) The emperor has no clothes!!! I didn't go to my
grandsons baptism. I didn't tell anyone else what they should do,
but I didn't go. Christianity survives because too many just go
along with it. I could not attend and condone such silliness.
I acted on my own thoughts.
It may be, as I stated earlier, this is to
tough a question to face. As long
as we can all gather together, and yell "Hurray for our side,"
everything
can be nice-n-easy. It is my belief this is the worst blinders we can
wear;
just as bad as the Victorian Principles of Christianity as we know it
today,
or the Victorian Principles of the Roman Catholic church in days of old
when
it was not allowed to print the Bible in English; "Poor people smell
funny."
We are only becoming another separatist group. So we are right; big deal.
If
we can't advance society our being right is of no
worth.
Marsha) Again, write C-SPAN. MOQ resides in the intellectual
level. It's at a higher level than the old-time religions. It
will survive, or it won't. I'm betting it's time has come.
I bow to the Dynamic Quality within you.
