All,
As many of you know, someone has placed a complete digitized version of ZMM on
the web. I had downloaded the file a while back, and it has proven very useful
for me in locating passages and quickly perusing the text.
I thought I'd spend some time this summer doing this for LILA. I scanned the
book with an OCR scanner, converted it to basic HTML, and ran some
spell-checks.
Since I'm assuming all of us own LILA, and that my sharing this file with
interested MOQers won't deprive Pirsig of any capital, I thought I'd make the
offer.
I can't guarantee the file is completely error free (in terms of reproducing the
text). Like I said, I ran spell-check and went through most of it by hand, but
if you find errors, please let me know.
I offer this only for your own use, to help you locate passages and quickly
compare usage of terms throughout the book (personally I use Firefox with the
very nice "find in this page" window feature, much nicer than the pop-up one IE
uses). Like I said, its in basic HTML format, since I like the Firefox search
feature better than any search feature in any document program I have.
So, if you are interested, please just drop me a personal email, I'll send you
the file (its only about 900kb, so most email systems should handle it.) I
won't put it on the web for general distribution, and only ask that you don't
either. And as a disclaimer... if you don't own the book, don't ask for the
file. Be "Good". :-)
Arlo
