    Hey Matt,
I just wanted to say that I finally read your "confessions" essay and I think that much of it is damn brilliant. Your pragmatic reading of Pirsig's philosophy (and of the relationship between the pragmatism of ZMM and the metaphysics of LILA) gels almost entirely with my own conclusions about Pirsig... only you've managed to get it all to hang together and get it coherently down on paper... and you've even filled in a few holes that have troubled me in the past. Good show Matt.
I've been so impressed by your take, that I went out and bout Rorty's 'Consequences of Pragmatism' which I hope to dive into during the next week. My own experience in pragmatism is pretty much limited to James and Dewey and some stuff by Louis Menand, so I'm actually quite excited at the prospect of finding a modern pragmatist I might agree with.
Anyway, Keep up the good work. It's essays and posts like the ones you've been putting up recently that keep me from unsubscribing.

    thanks,
    rick
