    Rebecca,

    Rebecca:
The Good is a combination of dynamic and static quality.  Excellence, in a
person, means building as many high quailty static patterns as you can and
then being able to act virtuously when you need to (according to some,
anyhow). That's sort of the conception that I had, which is why I was asking
about the arete = DQ bit.  You're correct in saying that I was confused.
    Thanks for the clear up.

Paul: Thanks for raising it. It was a good and valid question given what
I'd said about ZMM Quality = DQ. I think individual excellence is, as you
say, the building of as many high quality static patterns as possible whilst
retaining the willingness to let those patterns go for something better. It
is often a conflict which is seen in all areas of life between what may be
called the traditional and the avant-garde. The MOQ recognises and supports
    the value of both.

    Regards

    Paul
