    I agree with all of this. But I had another idea about the static latching.
    What I was thinking was that for each topic we could pose a question on
    which to focus (eg. "Do the Lila's Child comments help clarify the
    social/intellectual divide?" or "Does the Eudiamonic MoQ present a superior
    conception of the 4th level to that presented in LILA?"). The question is
    answered at the end of each discussion by every participant with a 'yes' or
    'no' and a brief paragraph (100 words or less) explaining why they "voted"
    the way they did. Whoever proposed the topic would take note of the
    'informal' vote and each participant's brief explanatory paragraph would be
    added to the bottom of the final summary.
