I wouldn't limit experience to humans. To me to say that everything
experiences or everything is aware is another way of saying that everything
is Quality. What is completely original (as far as I know) about the MOQ is
that it does not say that everything has value *to us* individually but
rather that everything *is* value. It's a shame that Pirsig's work sounds
"pie in the sky" to you, but it is a metaphysics after all. (This makes me
sad. I really though that we were on the same page with this stuff. I also
miss the libertarian Platt I thought I knew who wouldn't like the government
telling him what sexual positions he and his wife could use.)
