    Hi Matt,

I don't see why you would object to respecting morality, or to the
suggestion that we should respect morality more. I say it because some
(lots of?) people seem to have a negative attitude toward morality, and
actually DISrespect it, as-such. (And my feeling is that there is no
neutrality, you can't be in the middle on respect/disrespect. You either
respect or disrespect, as withholding respect is disrespectful.) I posit
that the whole of morality requires respect for it to continue to exist,
just as any particular pattern requires respect for it to continue to exist.
Respect is the juice that flows through the veins of morality and keeps it
from wilting. I think it is important to nurture a respect for Morality as
a whole, and for the generic moral process where things do what they should
because they should, than it is to nurture respect for any particular
pattern, because if we lose the concept that we should do what we should do,
then it won't make a difference what particular patterns we respect, they
won't be able to do what they should do anyhow, we'll have cut the legs out
    from under it.

    Johnny
