Hey Johnny,
The only reason I object to "respecting morality" is that if you told me I should respect morality more I would have no idea what to do. It doesn't mean anything to me. The things that mean something are "respect your neighbor's lawn," "respect your family," "respect the power of love," "respect the power of life and death." Those things mean something because they are the details that make "morality" substantial.
Saying "you should respect morality" makes me want to ask "Whose morality?" I don't think I would want to respect the Nazi's morality. You might say, "The Nazi's morality doesn't count because it wasn't really morality." I would reply "Why?" You might then say, "Because it doesn't include 'respect Jews,'" and I would go, "Oh, alright," because it was a detail that makes sense. Even if you said, "You should respect _my_ morality," that would make more sense because I could try and make some guesses as to what detailed things might be under your morality.
Matt
