Mark,
I think you need to explore the writings of modern non-fundamentalist
Christian theologians and mystics. You will find that there are enquiring Christians
as well as a majority of static ones, the same as with Buddhists.

Hello Scott,
Christians believe in God do they not?
Buddhists do not believe in God do they?
I conclude that a Buddhist is more free to explore the consequences of their
enquiry. The example i have given is that a Buddhist may be more open to the
MoQ - a Christian cannot live with the consequences of what the MoQ says and
will therefore 'flavour' their rational enquiry in order to align the MoQ with
faith.
It is a matter of static conditioning - and Buddhists feel such conditioning,
or samsara, is a block to achieving moksa, or liberation. For the Christian,
static conditioning is a prerequisite of being a Christian - you cannot be a
Christian without believing in God.
I am sure you will correct me if have gone astray?
All the best,
Mark
