Forum,
Scott has been giving me an education in these current posts.
It appears there is no 'automatic Christian' anymore; It has become socially
approved for Christians to:
1. Not believe in God.
2. Jesus cannot be the son of that which does not exist.
3. No virgin birth of a son of something that does not exist.
I already knew the church had struggled with such issues as the ordination of
woman priests, and the current controversy in the Anglican church regarding
the ordination of openly gay priests is now looking like a damp squib compared
to Scott's letter to Lambeth palace?
Scott also reaches into his vast reservoir of things he knows and informs me
that there is no 'automatic Buddhist.' It is now social and intellectually
approved for Buddhists to believe in God.
This has all come as a bit of a shock to me, because when i engage with the
real world, i am left with an altogether different impression of Christian and
Buddhists values. I was hoping someone could help me out, other than
recommending i take a degree in Theology before engaging further with a quickly
changing world?
All the best,
Mark
