    Steve:
I didn't mean to imply that a dolphin is aware of the level it occupies. I
think I lost myself here. My head hurts.

    Steve:
I mean that I think of awareness as not only my own view but as the internal
view of all the value that is inferred as static patterns. Awareness is
what it is like to be value. And everything is Quality (i.e. the universe
    is made of awareness).

    Steve:
It's easiest for me to get my mind around a view of 'everything is Quality'
when I spend quiet time in nature, though perhaps not in the dead of winter.
(Its been a cold one here in Philly.) Wilber describes the sense of
connectedness to everything that people experience in nature as the
beginning of post-intellectual or mystical awareness for many.

    Steve:
Naturally, the dolphin does not infer patterns. We intellectually infer the
types of patterns that a dolphin participates in and intellectually assign
the dolphin a level on that basis.

You are right. I slipped up.

    Steve:
    Agree
