Hello,
Just a quick thought.
Mark: A new level is not 'born' from an old one, and it does not 'include' the old one: DQ is the starting point, and there is therefore no relation between a new level and an old one. This is very important.
Poot: Would the analogy of a tree sprouting a new branch be comparable? The trunk being the event stream .
Concerning the individual level, vs. intellectual level, it is hard for me to state the importance of the differences between individual and intellectual.
Since the other 3 levels are not being challenged, we may assume that the debate is solely over the 4th level, now known as the intellectual level.
The difference, I believe, between an individual and intellectual, are these:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
An individual, is comprised of all 4 levels:
Intellectual: THey think/ emote
Organic: Obvious (*not needing my explanation)
Inorganic: Obvious (* " " )
Social: The desire to be among others, be it family/ friends. Even if you are anti social, you are still social, just on the negative scale.
The intellectual:
Takes place within (or throughout) the mind/brain or however you look at it.
This can be anything from mathematics, science, art, creativity, sense realisation, etc.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, we can see that individual (an), is already comprised of the 4 levels, and therefor cannot be the 4th level. I think that if you want to call it something different in your own world, if it enables you to understand things better, than great! do it!
But, careful which words you choose.
And now, what is the point of this thread?

Dear Steve,
I understand your view Re. Levels and people.
I've never had a problem understanding your point of view and agree with your approach the matter.
It is obvious you do not agree with Platt's notion of an Individual level and why.
I should like to thank you for helping me out with a question. You asked how a new level begins?
I can see the answer to this now, although at the time my response was to say that the Carbon atom was a mystical state. The reason this thought jumped into my head is because a new level begins with DQ. A new level is not 'born' from an old one, and it does not 'include' the old one: DQ is the starting point, and there is therefore no relation between a new level and an old one. This is very important.
We may say loosely that a new level includes an old level, but this is misleading if taken literally.
This is why i intuited the carbon pattern to be 'mystic' - it at that exceptionally coherent point that DQ reconfigures.
Thanks again,
All the best,
Mark
