Memes indeed, or patterned social and intellectual values as the MOQ may
choose to put it?
"Softly, softly, catch ye monkey, I say" and well said it is too.
I am reminded of Pirsig's description of the Native people's of what is now
joyfully hailed as the leading power in Global politics, namely the U.S.A. So
many people tie themselves into a culture of material dependency? Once these
patterns trap you, you can't rock the boat. But if you don't become attached to
these patterns, you are more free, like Native people. Perhaps a beginning is
to identify and then avoid playing the Giant's game? Softly, softly, catch ye
monkey...
