Hi Mark
As far as time as a static concept
goes it is one of those that is incoherent and
where SOM breaks down, hence problems
with getting relativity to agree with quantum theory
as you know. Once again I recommend Bergson on time
also see his book on Einstein.

Mark 3-6-04: Hi David M, Space-time is a concept. It's a human invention. As
far as the MOQ is concerned that makes it a static Intellectual pattern of
value open to revision in response to creative Dynamic activity.
My thinking is dominated by the MOQ, so if i read Bergson i read it in MOQ
terms. I've read overviews of Bergson, which i don't rely on because i much
prefer to read primary texts, but i found his metaphysics less pleasing than
Pirsig's.
I would love to read Bergson on time but i am seriously having trouble
balancing my addiction to music and reading! And i am supposed to be helping my
brother to record some songs AND write some of my own.
Add to this the fact that i am a very lazy individual who likes beer too much
then i hit problems. ;)
I will however try and make an effort. But Chomsky is on the boil and that
has grabbed my attention.
Keep the recommendations coming in any event.
And i shall always reply to your posts as long as i am here to do so!
All the best,
Mark
