Dear David B.,
I stated & asked 14 Jun 2004 07:58:59 +0200:
'As a vegetarian I'll gladly discuss with you the relative quality of meat
and vegetable food, but your gravy, alias your sense of 'fun' disgusts me.
Can you please take your 'war between society and intellect' with Platt
off-list?'
I trust that you don't misunderstand that question as a question to stop
contributing on this list (like Mark H. did 14 Jun 2004 06:19:44 -0700).
That would be inconsistent with the statement that 'I'll gladly discuss with
you ...'.
You answer is 'No' on 19 Jun 2004 14:26:54 -0600.
I respect your right to think that the social and intellectual levels are
related in a way that can be usefully described as 'war' (but disagree).
I respect your right to consider your discussions with Platt about the
relation between politics and the MoQ part of this 'war'.
You both seem to think the other one represents (primarily) the social
(lower) level in this discussion. It seems highly unlikely that you are ever
going to agree on that. If I remember rightly, you have both stated that
unlikelihood in your own words.
Going on with this discussion on-list doesn't really help others to
understand or develop the MoQ. It costs me more time than necessary to read
your postings on this subject. (I do read them, because both of you make
constructive points in your postings too and don't clearly separate your
'war' from what I experience as your constructive writing).
If you don't agree with that, can you at least decrease the amount of
'gravy' alias 'fun' of belittling Platt?
With friendly greetings,
Wim
