I say yes, overall, I guess you have to respect the
workings of the lower levels, that's why I often put
my Hegel down for a bit when I am offered sex, but
I get right back to the Hegel afterwards.

"Freedom" would then be the ability to participate in biologically, socially and/or intellectually valued patterns that do not threaten the layers above them.
I wish I could use the term coherence, but I must admit I don't fully understand it.
