    Hello all:

I'm enjoying this and I couldn't leave it alone.

Speaking of obvious, isn't it obvious that God is Santa Clause for adults?
Having said that, let me say this: society needs Santa. Santa exists, if
only in the minds of children; Santa exists and motivates said children to
behave. In the absence of Santa, some will behave because they're good kids
and some will cram M-80's up the cat's rectum.

So, while I firmly believe there is no Santa (I see no real evidence to the
contrary), I conduct myself in a civil manner, even though he won't be there
Christmas Eve to reward my good behaviour with goodies and gifts. I behave
myself for the same reason I'm glad most children still believe in Santa: at
the very least, exploding cats are messy and disconcerting.

When Nietzsche expressed the famous "God is dead," he was lamenting the
proliferation of exploding cats, not celebrating atheism.

Also belief in God is not necessary to experience religion or mysticism, so
why can't the MOQ be religious and mystical and atheistic?

    Best regards,

    Chuck

"I think Paul's assertion that "the MOQ is an atheistic system" goes too
far. (According to our dear friend, Mr. Webster, "atheism" denies the
existence of any kind of God or deity, not just "the usual,
anthropomorphic" kind.) Since, in the MOQ, DQ is associated so closely
with religious mysticism, it can't rightly be called an atheistic
    system." Date: Sun Feb 15 2004 - 18:49:18 GMT

I think you now have the context in which to understand my statement
that the MOQ is an atheistic system.

    Hi guys

To me it is obvious that alot of the talk about
god is bad stuff and needs dropping, but clearly
some of the stuff about god was clearly about
what we now call quality or DQ. So it was not all
bad and some of it may be useful. Anyone disagree?#
Calling this simply atheism is misleading I feel, because
the MOQ is all about trying to rediscover our values and
religion at its best had better values than nihlistic secularism
    I feel.

    regards
    David M
