Part III.
210 "The MOQ says there is an ultimate unity but the interrelation of
subject and object does not reveal it."
Coherence, the interrelation of DQ and sq, or better said, sq-sq tension
attempts to convey instances of unity.
Mark 1-8-04: CA210 is relevant to, "thoughts on religion and spirituality in
general" in that a theistic perspective would insert a deity here. The Penguin
English dictionary says coherence is: b. showing a unity of thought or
purpose. Therefore, an ultimate unity would be an ultimate unity of purpose. i.e.
The ultimate purpose is a unity. A Zen archer aims at this rather than the
target!
dmb: "Another problem would be his constant hijacking of threads to discuss
this pet idea, which has absolutely nothing to do with anti-theism."
219 "The MOQ, like the Buddhists and the Determinists says this 'autonomous
individual' is an illusion."
There is no individual in coherence.
Mark 1-8-04: CA219 addresses the issue of an autonomous individual. I am not
sure in what way dmb wishes this to contribute to his, "thoughts on religion
and spirituality in general" but i suspect many theists would wish to challenge
CA219. The Zen archer would agree with CA219, and an MOQ description of
purposeless tension may be valuable regarding everyday experiences, whether one is
maintaining a motorcycle or shooting an arrow: The ultimate aim is satori.
228 "The MOQ does not rest on faith. In the MOQ faith is very low quality
stuff, a willingness to believe falsehoods."
Falsehoods like angels me wonders?
All the best,
Mark
Mark 1-8-04:
Mark Wed Jul 14 2004 - 02:36:18 BST: "Then we talked for awhile as I watched
angels dancing around Ken (Wilber) and saw images of Moses, Jesus and
Nagarjuna fade in and out."
