GAV:
the israel thread has proved two things:
1) many intelligent people on this list are entirely ignorant of the
ultimate causes of this continuing problem. they have not yet realised that
the media is distorted to an orwellian degree in their countries. they are
stuck in a contrived dichotomy which is perpetuated by emotive rhetoric.
2) until intelligent people take a *disinterested* look at the historical
facts of the conflict (and also at who gains from its continuance) we shall
be none the nearer to its end.
i say this with heartfelt anguish and sincerity:
WAKE UP!
---GERT-JAN: You are entirely right if you say that a lot of us don't take historical facts into account. I'm not sure if this is because of ignorance. I would prefer the fact that a lot of us are uninformed. You also state that this is a form of disintres. Its al so complex.. It would take me years to have a clear view on the situation..
Now a question arrises:
a.. Is it possible to mix in a 'war' and trying to provide solutions without knowing al the facts..? b.. as in providing an answer for two fighting children without asking what is going on?
a.. Or should you go 'the dynamic way' and 'become' the 'conflict'? b.. thus providing yourself with thousands of sources and not just CNN
The first option could be called the history-ignorant solution, and the second one the become-the-conflict solution.
The whole conflict that is going on in the mid-east is part of the social static pattern of the people who live there. If a parent would raise a child without informing him (as much as possible) with info that could 'feed' the conflict, the child would probably be a person that is not adapted to the social pattern. It soon would be an outcast. Or one could have risen above the conflict due to Dynamic Experience..
a.. Would it make a difference if the western view would refocus from the social-adapted-conflict-upholders to the social outcasts of the middle east...? In my not-knowing-what-the-hells-going-on point of view I think that part of the world is in the middle East version of our Victorian age. The social level dictates. (my life for society) From this seat it is quite clear that some of the outcasts have had the become-the-conflict phase and therefore know more about what's going on then all CNN journalists together. Those individuals have the answers.
a.. How do you recognize if someone had a Dynamic experience..? b.. They have a valueable treasure with them but are pushed into the shadows by the ruling society. How to find them?
The main question of this article is:
a.. Should we sent Bush a copy of LILA..?
