Matt K helpfully pointed out April 6th:
>Oh hey, Ant---I don't know if you noticed, but there was this new
>innovation in e-mail technology called a "Subject Line," where a writer
>could let the reader know what he was going to write about. Its been
>helpful for e-mail discussion groups because, that way, they could have an
>easy and helpful way of telling which posts are a response to which based
>on what thread they are in.
Ant McWatt notes:
Matt,
Thanks for pointing out this new fangled "subject line" convention for
e-mail. You know, telegrams were a lot simpler...
Is there a reason behind this seeming lack of attention? Possibly. I'd
just sent in a post titled "Philosophy and Metaphysics (I)" so knowing how
much you'd be disappointed if you had accidentally overlooked a pearl or two
of my wisdom (thinking it was the same post sent in twice) I titled my next
post with the nearest relevant title.
A pragmatic compromise, I’m afraid,
Anthony.
