    I'm reposting this because it didn't go through the first time and it's been
    two days...
     Ian (Picky) and Matt:

    ------ I'd like to resubject this thread because it no longer has anything
    to do with "Chaos and it's role in Evolution" and In order to respect Mark's
    discussion ------

    "holy holy holy trinity..." It's something I've been thinking about a bit
    lately that I wasn't sure if i should bring up with the group or not because
    it's sure to be a touchy subject. While we're here, however - what, if
    anything, are the similarities between the Christian mystery of the Holy
    trinity and Quality? Three in one, one in three.
     This is an idea that's been haunting me for a while; perhaps it's my
    penchant for drawing obtuse connections. But there seem to be relationships
    between {God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit} and {Quality,
    Static Quality, Dynamic Quality}. Not between the physical (or spiritual)
    things but between the philosophical conceptions - the ideas that I have of
    them. I don't really care if this suggestion is faux pas - that we're trying
    to stay away from the social level controlled by the Church or some such
    nonsense. Pirsig has a deliberate focus on eastern Mysticism but he comes
    from a Christian tradition and those ideas are buried very deeply in the
    subconscious of our society. Maybe a bit of a look into these Christian
    ideas could give us a bit more of a handle on Quality.

    PS. I'm not big on labels but Relationist sounds wonderful to me. Especially
    since absolutists seem to think that relativism sees everything as equal - I
    guess that's part of the blind spot in their point of view.

    Replying to:
    Rebecca, Matt,

    Call me picky, but for me ...

    * one thing
    * interacting with
    * another thing

    ... is three things - the triplet as I've referred to it before.
    Same idea, same "event" though, so no argument.

    I like "relationalist" as a riposte to accusations of "relativist"
