Squonk,
dmb:
It seems the whole debate
is about making a distinction bewteen two "QUALITATIVELY" and distinctly
different KINDS of thinking, two seperate forms mind.
sq: If there is such a debate, i can assure you it is not one held by those who accept the MoQ. The debate, as you call it, has nothing to do with the MoQ.
The debate, as you call it, is between those who have very little sympathy for, or value of the Metaphysics of Quality. In time, this will become ever more clear and you will have to evaluate your contributions to the forum. This may involve you leaving the forum altogether - and not a day too soon in my view. No debate about that, i assure you.
squonk.
There is such a debate, and I am on DMB's side of it (see my last couple of posts in which I try to answer your objections). To say that by taking this position we "don't accept the MOQ" is very strange. Is it your opinion that any disagreement with Pirsig, even if it is only a matter of terminology, is not to be allowed? If it is not allowed, how do you allow DQ into the MOQ?
