Hello.
Some curiosity on my part leads me to ask, 'How do we recognize DQ from Degeneracy?' This may have been addressed here before, but not in the time that I've been a member of the list, which is considerable. Unless I have a bad memory. I have in mind the "Hippie Revolution" of the 60's in 70's since that's the social event Pirsig analyzes in his talk about this. I don't want to get too specific with my questions because many of you are better and finding the right ones to ask than I am, since I don't have much experience here. But it seems to me, that to have a healthy sense of distinction between what is Quality and what is degenerate will lead us into more clarity and peaceful apprehension of Quality on a personal level, as well as much less confusion in discussing it.
I'm a little worried that someone will think I'm trying to impose static patterns OVER DQ to say what is dynamically acceptable and what is not. B
ut that's not what I'm doing, just in case it comes to anyone's mind.
I look forward to hearing some thoughts.
Charles
