Hi all,
Ok, I think this thread about renaming Quality has gone
on for long enough, so let's be totally objective about the
reasons we've got to choose either options:
X :
It's mathematical and precise
It means "still without definition" thus fitting Quality
perfectly
It is unambiguous, and doesn't lead to false
interpretations of what Quality means
Quality:
It's weird, quirky, and doesn't fit the "ideal" of Quality
It's been chosen only for the sentimental reason that
Pirsig started to have an inkling of what Quality (upper
case) was, when thinking about what quality (lower case)
was.
It is ambiguous, and apt to send us on a thousand tangents
about what it "is", or what properties it inherits.
Therefore, it is obvious we have to keep Quality. ;)
Be good
Denis
