Hi Sam,
I've been meaning to get into this with you, but I keep getting side-
tracked by other posts. Note change of subject...
sam:
So I will ask once more: in what way does the MoQ give value to
people as such, rather than to the patterns of value of which people
are composed? Despite the torrent of words, you haven't answered that
question.
If anyone else wants to try, I'd be delighted to pursue the matter
in a more reasonable fashion. In the meantime, I shall just be more
confirmed that there is a glaring hole in the MoQ.
msh says:
I'm having trouble understanding your question. I don't see how the
MOQ, or any metaphysics, can GIVE value to anything. In the MOQ,
Quality IS value, and everything derives from Quality. Everything is
composed of patterns of value, including people, so I don't
understand what you mean when you speak of "people as such", which
suggests that they are something apart from the patterns that compose
them. People aren't just valuable; they ARE value.
Maybe you could talk a little more about what you mean. Sorry if you
are repeating yourself, but I seem to be missing a lot of messages.
BTW, I too think there is a glaring hole in the MOQ, but not the one
you see. So far, I haven't been able to understand how inanimate
matter decided to tweak the carbon molecule into life. But, that's
another story.
Best regards,
Mark
